The ECM generates that code 43 because it tested the knock sensor and the test failed. I believe it may then enter a "safe" mode but not sure.
If you are getting that code it could be due to either a faulty knock sensor or ESC module.
If you need to replace the ESC use the "upgrade" listed on my site.
If you are getting code 42 there is an issue with the EST circuit. This code is generated whenever the EST connector in the Tan/Blk wire is opened to check or set base ignition timing.
I suggest you clear the stored codes and see if the code comes back.
