Default How much hp?

Alright here is my plan.
1995 LT1 6spd

LT4 hotcam kit
long tube headers
cat delete
muffler elims
professional computer retune

Also just bought new grandsport wheels with some new 315s on them.

What kind of hp and torque at the wheels can I expect out of this setup? What quarter mile time?

Anyone with an educated guess is welcome to take a stab. Thanks guys.

Also, when I do lt headers, will they have provisions for EGR? Can I take the EGR off at this time and reprogram the comp to run without it? Also, if I am running without cats, do I need O2 sensors? The only reason I am opting to not have cats is to avoid having to purchase new ones. I am not worried about passing emissions. I'm in Texas, half the shops around here don't check emissions anyway.

Sorry Dude,
Can't help ya.
But I will say this is one topic that has been asked so much and so frequent most of these guys won't even respond to this topic any more.
You may want to do a search to find some similar posts with responses.

Good luck

Probably about 300rwhp. My friend has a 97 Z28 and dynoed about 302 with same mods.

Yes.

Yes.

Most of the LT headers for the LT1/4 cars have a punch out for the EGR. I know my Exotic Muscle headers do. I just don't use it.

You need O2's. The computer uses the info to go into closed loop operation once the car warms up. Your only other option is to fake the computer out. Much more of a hassle.

Don't do the EGR's this is a good time to clean that stuff up. You absolutely need the O2 sensors. You can have bungs put in if necessary.

Awhile back I posted my dyno figures for the bolt on mods only 95 6 spd I have (you'll have to do a search).

I believe based on my 298.6 RWHP and 325.4 RWTQ with no head and cam or LTs you'll be dusting me in the weeds...............to the tune of about:

325RWHP and 350RWTQ

Good luck with the plan !

gslotman, thanks for the guess. That was the main thing I was interested in. I read your previous post about your dyno runs with various mods. Very interesting.

So about the O2 sensors... If I don't have cats, where should the 02 sensors be in the exhaust pipes? Just right after the headers, or in the headers? Does it matter? I had a buddy that did an LT1 swap into an RX7 and we welded a nut onto his shorty headers so the O2 sensors would screw right into it. Where would I put mine with LTs?

About EGR... if I take it all out and put in block off plates, do I have to tell the guys reprogramming the comp to cut the EGR stuff out of the program? Or does it not matter?

There is a guy on here named Nathan. Do a search and check out his web page. He dynoed his 94 through several changes. If memory serves, he was around 320-330 hp with headers, hotcam, and electric pump, and of course a tune.
BTW, personally, I would reconsider the no cats, headers, and no mufflers. IMO its going to be too loud. But to each his own!!
Keep us posted on your results.

Edit to add: Most LT1 headers come with bungs in the collectors for the 2 O2 sensors. The rear ones used on newer models can be tuned out.

You can eliminate the 1 rear o2 sensor on your 95 without any problems or reprogramming.

Yeah I have seen Nathan's page before. I will look at it again as I can't remember what was on it.

About the exhaust. I have cutouts on it right now. So when I'm on the street the cutouts will be closed. So I will be running longtube headers, no cats, stock resonator and stock mufflers. So I think this will not be too loud. When I go to the track I will open the cutouts, so it will be just headers and resonator, but no mufflers. Should be loud at the track. In my first post when I said muffler elims. I just put that to avoid confusion about the cutouts, because they essentially do the same thing as muffler elims. Thanks for the caution though. Much appreciated.
