Fuel pump question
The car starts but then after one or two revs just dies out, even with giving gas
I think its the fuel pump. The rail is not getting primed every time as well, I have not gotten a pressure gauge yet, but pressing the rail nozzle the gas does not even shoot out, it just barely leaks out, if that...
However once in a while during the priming, it may have the gas squirt out.
The PUMP- does not prime all the time, no noise when turning the key. sometimes after every ten key turnings, it may make a noise, but mostly no priming noise at all.
NEED A NEW PUMP< right????
please help.

First is FSM, 2nd: Search function, there's tons of posts on tests and diags that will definately help ya., 3rd: Get a FP gauge, so you can see (attach, tape to windshield, see what happens with key turn on then start...)
Wrong.
What you need is to diagnose the problem correctly. And to do that, you need two things right off the bat.
1. The factory service (Helm) manual.
2. A fuel pressure gauge.
Throwing parts at the problem to fix it will get very costly, in terms of both $$$ and time. Approach it methodically.
For now, while your FSM is in the mail, buy the gauge, screw it onto the schrader valve, and turn the key on to prime the system and tell us what the gauge reads, and if and how long it holds the reading after the two second prime, post the results and we'll go from there.
