Default Double Check the Pivot Ball

I had the same symptom and I had the pivot ball loosen up so the fork hit the clutch. I replaced everything but the ball since it was just loose. The thread locker didn't hold and it backed out about a month later. I had to source a pivot ball from a dealer in TX since there are very few left and no one repops them. Yes, then take the trans back out and do all the work involved with that. So just be sure that the stud is 100% before re-assembly.
Good Luck

well got my parts all back. sent fidanza flywheel out o be match balanced like it said and i was fine. got it in the car and the b&m shifter on the tranny no problem...not with out totaly tearing the tail apart to ge to the top of the pin but it on! but when i went to put tranny back in car i struggled like crazy to get it in the piolet bushing. went thru clutch no problem. well after a hour and my arms where numb from holding up the tranny i finally came in and emailed larry. 5 minutes later he called and i had his tip of the day......start a bolt and push in the clutch. so i did and poof on she went. took like 2 minutes and it was on. and that was spent reinstalling the slave. thanks larry you the man!!!

What is your final solution? I know there's a few mcleod setups floating around, not sure what's what.

I bought the follwing from Summit except the Flywheel.

1. Ram C4 Conversion Pressure Plate #401
2. Ram C4 Conversion disc # 309M
3. Howe Slip on TOB # 82876
4. AMS Stock thickness Billet Flywheel # MSSF350

I had it all balanced with the new SCAT crank last week and picked it all up last Friday.

When I measured the stack ups, the RAM slip on TOB that comes with their package, would not work on my car. I can figure out why but the RAM would have been too long by @ .045" and would not collapse far enough to work,

so I called Howe, spoke with them and picked up the TOB above. It is shorter than I need and comes with
.045" shims to make it "longer" if necessary.

Saturday I will put the engine back in and then hook it all up as much as I can,, but I should be on the road 1-week from Fri/Saturday.

I cant wait to put the Clutch issue to bed.

And to make life even easier, put some Pennzoil synchromesh in the trans. Same as GM stuff, $6 / bottle and available at Autozone.

The ones on the shelf at my autozone looked like they had been there awhile.

I think the normal stock varies by store, depending on the manager. I'll ask him next time I go in, because I think I bought about all they had and I'll be needing more eventually.
