I posted a thread last week asking about heli-coil threads for a spark-plug hole. I got all concerned over nothing. I changed the plugs on my '91, but ran into what looked to me like someone had put some type of putty around the #2 plug. I couldn't see very well and I was afraid to dig around the plug thinking I might get in over my head. I just got back from a mechanic's shop that I trust. It was a piece of masking tape that someone apparantly had wrapped around the plug. The tape had come loose and pretty much filled the hole.
The plug was changed just like all the others and I'm back on the road.
I've been worried all week thinking of major expenses maybe even a cracked block. It's sunny outside. I think I'll go for a drive to cellebrate. Gary R
