Question on Custom Chip
My ECM went bad, Got lucky and found one on E-Bay for $150.00. It came with a custom burnt chip, I think. It is Marked T.P.I.S. 6/25/03
It had something below that, that has been marked out.
My car ran and drove OK but had a surge at idle, more when in gear than in Park. My A/C would not work, all functions OK except no COMPRESSOR. So I put my old chip in the new ECM and everything is fine, A/C is back and no serge.
Is there anyway of finding out what this chip is? Can you turn off the compressor with the chip?, Or maybe it came from a manual A/C controlled car? Any thoughts welcome.
The marking that was marked over is "Wyatt rwyatt4"

Sounds like the chip was burned for a F body which doesn't have a CCM in the car. The CCM controls the AC system and if the PCM or rather the ECM don't talk to the CCM weird things can happen such as no AC.
