Are you saying that the pic that Eike posted did not clear up any confusion that you may have had? This had to be the best image indicating how that resonator was cut !!

Yes I see that now. Sorry. Both of my parents have died in the last 4 months. I am the executor for my Dad's will. I just bought my 1995 Corvette. I joined this forum to learn about Corvette's. I am 54 and grew up with 1969 1970 1971 Dodge Chargers. The '71 was 500HP +. I love fast cars. I am returning to my teenage years.
OK - Should I do anything with my 1995 exhaust? That's why I joined this forum for advice from folks that have been there.
Drive it for awhile. Get to know it. Do a lot of research. Then decide what you want to do to it, if anything. Take your time. There is no rush to jump into something only to realize it wasn't what you wanted to do. You have plenty of time to plan any mods you decide you want to make!

Doing anything depends on your goals. The car is good the way it is, or make it your own with HP mods, just for looks mods, whatever you like the best! My car is a fun hobby for me. Take it out on a road course!
