Having some problems again, heres whats been going on...

I put new heads on it a few weeks ago, had a mechanic adjust the rocker arms and timing. He says my fuel pump is going out. I replaced the pump and the car runs fine with a slight miss every now and then and it overheats.

Last Friday it started running really bad, made it around the corner and shut it off. It was leaking fuel out of the back of the fuel rail. I fixed that and it ran fine again. A little rough at first but smoothed out.

Last night I adjusted the timing to 6* BTDC it was at 10*. Went out for a drive, but it started storming real bad so I went home. This morning it'll start up, run for a second or two and die. When I give it gas it sounds real rough and will die when I let off. I checked vacuum lines, its all good. Getting spark too. I have no idea whats wrong and its driving me crazy. I really need some help.

Has the fuel pressure been checked? The fuel filter could be plugged.

There are no codes being set and the fuel pressure was checked by the mechanic which is how he narrowed it down to the pump. A guy I work with said it could be a bad alternator or battery. The battery is only a few months old.

A clogged fuel filter can also give sym of bad pump.
Check battery voltage, and alt to battery charging: Search for procedure and info.
Leaking injector, check plugs, check cap

New cap, new rotor, new wires, new plugs. Voltage is around 14.2-14.5 volts so its all good. Well I tried to keep it running a little bit ago, it ran rough until it warmed up and then ran fine.

I adjusted the belt tensioner cause it was wobbling up and down, so I tightened that up. I put the timing back at 10* BTDC to see if that would have an effect.

So I guess it runs rough until warming up, which makes me think of leaking injectors or something. Your thoughts?

Do you have a gauge ?? A little diagnostic work will let you know if it is an injector leaking.

Man I really need a fuel pressure gauge. My other car gets code 44 and runs like crap. I'm gonna keep testing the vette and i'm sure its something stupid like it always is.
