I added a cooling fan about a month back and the car consistently runs under 200*F unless sitting for a long time in heavy traffic. So I know as the days get warmer here, I am going to have to have the primary fan tuned for a lower temp. I was planning on getting the car tuned but with gas prices the way they are i see no reason. Car gets 27.4MPG on the highway on 87 Octane; this is no joke! As such I have no interest in tuning the car for 93 at this point and to pay $175 to have the PCM tuned only for fans is ridiculous. Is there anywhere other then PCM4LESS I can go that will tune the fans down to 180*F for less $$??

89 Vette
Dan, is thia a 93 or 89 vette. If it is a 93 I can do it for you, but keep in mind you will need the piggyback adapter and chip that Agent 86 referenced and there would be shipping involved. Also, when considering what to do, keep in mind that the new chip and adapter is included with pcmforless. Again, if all you want is fan temps changed, then I can do it as long as its a 92-93.

If your 1989 came with a boost (aux) fan, you can just buy the sensor/switch from Mid America for $15. You don't need the wiring harness. You can kick the aux fan at 200 and off at 185. This is working well for me with a 170* stat. I left the main fan at 226*. The sensor is between plugs 1 and 3 on the driver side head.
Sorry about that guys,... now i feel like an idiot,... the vehicle is a 1989 Corvette with a L98 TPI.... I don't want to tune it for 93 Octane Gasoline anymore because the price difference is crazy!!!!! Its about $3.15 for 87 Octane regular (what I run) and 93 Octane is around $3.50 and quickly rising. Currently the Vette is getting around 27.4MPG... I couldn't get that type of mileage out of a honda!
Now,... my aux fan turns on at around 185*F and off at 175*F because I already changed out the temperature sensor. I need the primary fan to also turn on at around 180*F... Thats what I am looking to do...
