LTPWS stands for "Low Tire Pressure Warning System". I can't imagine why it would come on then go off though. Have you checked the air pressure in your tires?

It is normal for the LTPWS to indicate on the DIP when you first start. The system is listening for the signal to stablize from the 4 tire pressure sensors. Once it reads the signals which takes several hundred feet of driving it will go off. If it doesn't you probably have a tire with 24 psi or less.

Welcome to the forum:

95 was a great year for C4 corvettes. I know this for a fact as I have a 95 myself

Two things will be of great help to you:

1) Read the "sticky notes" at the top of this tech section.

2) On e-bay you can purchase the 2 volume set of the Factory Service Manual for less than $100.00. If you do this you need the set with the red covers. The white covers are pre production versions and you don't want that.

Check in C4 tech tips. The procedure for resetting the oil change light is there.

I think you will get better handling and tire wear at 30 to 35psi.

The LTPWS sender in the tire (which sucks BTW) uses a piezoelectric source for power which needs vibration from rotation to fire it up.

This could be an explanation as to why it takes a bit for your LTPWS light to clear.

Consider yourself lucky that it works at all. Many have trouble trying to restore a failed system. Much like the crapass PKE.

Also, as a tip you NEED to tell the company that changes your tires to dismount the tire by placing pressure at points perpendicular to the valve stem (imagine the valve stem at the bottom and draw a straight line up.. go perpendicular to that line center). The LTPWS (again, half assed system) uses a giant hose clamp which positions the sensor 180 degrees out from the valve stem. It will be quite easy to crush the sensor if dismounting the tire at this point.

Mine goes on and off constantly. Usually unexpected. The pressure is fine. The system stills work. Lower your pressure in one tire to 15 lbs. and drive it, see if it trips the warning light. Mine works even when the service LPTWS drives me crazy.

Default On and Off LTPWS Lights

I read somewhere in the FSM for my 96' that if the ignition was turned on 3 times within a 10 to 30 minute period that the LTPWS will come on at start up but will go off after driving a bit. My 96' did the same thing until I cleared the computer through the OBD ll port under the dash above the drivers right knee. Ground pin 5 to pin 6, 3 times within 10 or so seconds with ignition on (don't start the car), and it'll clear the lights upon start up. I used a very high tech ground tool..........paper clip!!! Let me know if that helps you out. ssandy110

As a newbie myself (and a 95 owner also) the sticky notes have been a great help as has search and tech/perf and I just (today) got my red FSM's on e-bay for $76. Welcome aboard
