Is this just for looks? These cars basically have shorty headers stock. I wouldn't want to use just a painted header because of how much extra heat there will be. I would want them coated.

or wrapped, make sure they wont heat up your brake lines, full long tube headers might fit that car, they will fit my 84 im pretty sure,

I wouldn't bother with those headers. Money and pain and no gain. Your car has a good exhaust system. Maybe a high flow catback would give you better sound.

????? What do you have now? I can't think of any good reason to waste money on shorty headers.

RACE ON!!!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say to install the Shortys. when I first id the heads/cam on my 94 I installed Hooker Shortys. The car ran strong, don't know how much came from the headers. So, later I installed EM long tubes and high flow cats. I only picked up about 10 rwhp with the long tubes, not the 20-30 hp most pick up from the stock exhaust. This was telling me that htere was a decent gain from the shortys. Also, the car had a better sound with the Shorts.

Go with the shorty's since you already have em' its the easiest and truthfully, anythings better than stock!! you will have better sound and you will have "braggin rights"!!

I vote NO on the wrapping, it will hold in moisture.

wrapping is expensive also, maybe use that hight temp paint, duplicolor, it goes to 1500 degrees, my buddie just put the painted headers in, the paint burned off in 10 seconds, looked awfull, so paint them with the 1500 degree paint, also you can get a (looks like a starter blanket in silver) with velcro, you can place it between the headers and the brake lines, dont want to boil the brake fluid!!
you should have 90 degree spark plug boots, also the header might need some trimming to fit the holes, let me know how they fit, if its not perfect, we can help you to get them to fit.

sorry bout that, yeah, paint em up with good paint, (high temp) the boots are on the spark plug wires, i know the 90 degree ones (bent like an elbo) fit better, you probrably have those already, since you are taking it to GM you should have NO headaches! sure they will take care of you, you will like the sound, hp, etc. !

VHT makes a flame proof paint to 2000°. Spark plug boots cost so much you may as well coat the headers!
