Default security light after attempted theft

Hello everyone,

I have a 92 corvette that somebody attempted to steal while parked on the street. They pried the key cylinder apart in the steering column.. I reassembled it, but the security light is still lit on the dash and will not let me start the car. Granted the cylinder still sticks a little, and I'll try reassembling it again. Is there something else I need to do to reset the security function? It is the factory stock system for what it's worth. Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Nick

Sounds like they screwed your ignition switch's ability to read the VATS chip in the key. New ignition switch could be in your future.
