understanding engine scan analysis?
hi there,
i have a moded 1991 L98 vette.
i have down loaded some of the free scan tools to run on the p.c such as win aldl ,datamaster and so on!
i heard that the " diamcom " program comes with a booklet saying what every thing means and what should be set at,is that coreect please?
i wanted to know if any one can explain what all the parameters are suppose to read!
i know for example what t.p.s sensor should read and be set at,i know ignition timing should be set at, and fuel presure reg set and injector ohms be, but the rest i wouldnt have a clue!
they list a whole table of engine facts/figures which is very help ful but how do i learn what each thing means and what setting they should be reading please?
is there any site that lists what each setting means and should be at like for example knock sensor counts,how many?, i.a.c position, what setting,injector pulse width,what setting? ,m.a.p reading setting?,b.l.m,s reading and so on.
there is so much data there to try and under stand hope fully what it should all read correctly.
i just wanted an idea on what all the setting should read at and between so when i do a scan i can compare what i have and what they should be thats all!

Diacom is a waste of money from all ive ever heard about it, i dont have any idea why its so expensive.
