Default LT-1 to LT-4 conversion kit

Has anyone on this forum used tried this set-up? I found it at paceparts.com It seems like a good deal, you get the LT-4 heads/hot cam/and LT-4 intake with everything you will need to complete the project for about 2 grand. Is this a good deal? What kind of performance gain will you see/ results? Thanks

I would probably go with ARE's head and cam package for that price. I would do some research on different options before spending any money.

I looked at this kit not too long ago and I agree with Tim about having your current heads and intake ported/polished along with a new cam.

Since the LT4 is 2k and still requires installation costs, the tuners are very close to this price. Spend 2500 at ARE or another tuner and I guarantee you will be faster then with a stock LT4 setup.

You can do what ever you want.... you can do what all these others are telling you to do..... OR... you can sell your LT1, and spend the money to buy a LT4, and you wont lose thousands when or if you have to sell your car. Just my .02

This is a good point too. It all depends on what you want and if you plan on keeping your Vette for a long time.

I find it worth wild to mod my LT-1 because it's a '93 and I paid much less then a nice LT-4. Plus my insurance is cheaper for a 93 compared to a 96. And I plan on keeping it forever, it's my first Vette. :D

I get at least one email a week asking me about this package and how it will hold up to out stage II job. I think I got an email from you , but I am not sure.
This package is not even close to our Stage II heads and cam, not only in performance, but in the quality of parts that are used. Evenything from the locks to valves is better on our heads. Not to mention that our heads leave with around 178cc intake runners compared to 195cc runners on the LT4 heads and our heads flow much more than the stock LT4 heads! How do you flow more out of a smaller opening....VELOCITY!!! This will give you street pounding power and a nice broad power curve.

Hands down, go with our Stage II heads over the LT4's out of the box.
