Car has been running great last two months, EVERYTHING works on my stock 1989 Coup with automatic transmission.
Today drove it about 15-20 miles at lunch, ran into a post office and when got back into the car, turned the key and dash was normal but NO STARTER sound. Shifted out of park, into neutral and still no starter.
About 1.5 - 2 hours later car started right up. If this is the VATS system starting to act up I'd like to know how those VATS bypass system works.
could be, maybe the key was wet or dirty. It could also be a bad starter solinoid, nuetral safety switch, ignition switch or battery/cables. If it happens again check to see if the security lamp is out. No security lamp = no VATS problem.
