Here is the thing....a big block is a neat concept but with a properly built SBC you can spank the crap out of 90% of the BB cars out there. I do it weekly as the track.

No doubt if you build a super solid BB, it will outrun a sbc, but that causes other problem - might as well figure on a solid rear conversion emmidately or you will going to rear components like mad.

point being if you just want to go fast - a good SBC can be built for less than a BB, it will drop right in without the hassle of custom headers and other thing that WILL be needed to optimize the power level justifying the BB swap. Headers alone will cost you 1500 dollars minimum......

You would be looking at a 30k dollar package for motor, rear, conversion fabrication costs EASILY. 20k if your doing it all yourself.

A person could built a great 434CI sb with good heads that will run all day mid 10s, then put a 200-250 shot of nitrous and run bottom 9s all day long at 150MPH+ for MUCH MUCH less money.

And comparing apples to apples at the track there are very very few full weight cars running bottom 9s. So you would be definately in a leage of your own if that is your thing.

Cool idea though but it would be a serious undertaking and one that would cost a good amount of $$

i am more concerned with coolness factor then 1/4 mile times or who i can or canot beat in a race. all i am looking for is 400 hp maybe a tad more but dont think i need to hit 500 hp on a street car. mainly want to have enough hp to feed my need for speed as far as street driving and a cooless factor for the shows. i could care less if my car is the baddest fastest or meanest in town. wait a sec who am i kidding my car deffinately has to be the baddest lol
