Default Brake pulling problem

Need some advise!

87 Vette Z-52 with SS Brake Corp 88 & up calipers with 13" rotors kit. Have had pulling probelm (to the left) since day one (not bad pull, but you know it's there). Also, it is not consistent: one stop it will pull, next it won't! Left wheel gets warm, while right stay's cold in daily driving. No pull when brakes not applied, and never any pull with original brakes.

Have changed pad's (changed to Raybestos Brute Stop pads, from what ever SSBC supplied originally) , and pull came back.

Have contacted SSBC and their customer service dept. isn't worth crap ( no help other than comment "You have had it for more than a month, so it is your problem!").

Have tried to grease (very lightly with Neverseize) the very ends of the pad backing plate, thinking that the pads may be cocking in the calipers and binding. But no change seen. And no grease was ever on rotors/pads.

Have also done a torque test (brake pedal pushed down with moderate pressure by helper, while I turned each wheel with torque wrench). I saw equal torque (but everything was cold by then).

Any suggestions are welcome. Anyone else with this type of problem?

Have the same problem on my Suburban. Rebuild/replace the caliper as it is probably sticking. Heat difference is a good indicator.

Have the same problem on my 86. Going to rebuild both front calipers this winter.

Thanks guys!

Only problem is that this pulling started when the calipers were practically brand new!

Let me throw out another option

When it starts to pull, if you let off and then press pedal again, does it stop pulling?

Problem could be a bad brake hose. They can delaminate internally which will create sort of a check valve that doesn't let the caliper open up when you take pressure off the system

Just a thought, had a similar experience
