Default lower a C4

Hey, I have a 96 lt4 and i want to lower it. I bought the lowering kit from mid america. Has anyone lowered it with the kit and was it difficult? What was the hardest thing to do when lowering it.

Thanks

I lowered my '87 several years ago with a similar kit. The rear is easy, just replace the spring end bolts with longer ones. No problem. The front is another story as most of the front suspension is involved. The spring must be disconnected, the ball joints separated, etc. The spring has to come out to replace the "pads" so the car has to be jacked up high or a lift must be used. I did like the look when it was finished. However, I haven't jumped in to do it on the '92.

Hey, Thanks for the replies. I going to a shop to jack up the car, so getting under the car won't be a problem. Im actually going to get it done tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes, lol. Thanks for the link.

Psycho CHirrdi !!

Question to everyone is .. Is cutting a must in lowering the front of a base suspension c4 ? From what the instructions say i believe we have to machine down the bracket that bolts the spring down.

Yes.

If you don't do it, the spring can move around and tear off the wedges.

Also, some have glued the wedges to the frame, not the spring. It depends who you ask.
