Default Keyless entry

Ive been having a minor problem with my keyless entry. Sometimes the car will lock and horn will sound with the door still open when i am in the process of getting out. Also when i go back to get into the car, it seems to take a minute before the door will unlock. Can anyone help me figure out how to cure this problem?

In short, it's the little plastic thing with buttons on it attached to your keyring.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your help, this seems like it should be the first thing to check. Ive never opened the fob up before, what kind of battery does it take, and will i have to reprogram the fob after i replace the battery, or will it just instantly work.

Duracell battery, type DL2450 or equivalent.

I just replaced mine about 2 months ago. I got it at Radio Shack.
No, you will not need to reprogram the fob after replacing the battery.
