Are you running any support braces on the a/c and alternator like the factory ones that stifeen the accessories by bracing with the manifold bolts? Perhaps that was the reason why there were there.
I can't see high rpm alone being the cause as my motor has seen hours of dyno time not to mention top speed runs and late night 4th gear datalog runs at 7800 and a few times 8100 rpm running a OVER drive ATI damper (later changed to a custom underdrive damper). It's now blown up but I dont think the rpms caused it. My guess is the A/C compressor clutch or a rebuilt alternator caused the vibes or improper torqueing of the bolts ?
Are you by any chance running FMRFST's AC Delete Bracket? If so I have found that you can either shim it with a washer to get the belt perfect, or in my case where I needed a smaller pulley, it came with an insert that I had to drill to fit diameter wise, but is also shimmed the pulley into the perfect spot.
I can't remember which bracket I have, I bought it a long time ago and no longer have the receipt. But it was definately out of position. It's lined up well now but I considered ovaling out the mounting holes or shimming the pulley if it wanders again.
ALL I CAN SAY IS.......there are A LOT of SMART people here in this forum, too many "quotes" to quote! but if you want to keep running your C-4 with the "Big Dawgs" there is NO doubt in my mind that with these forum members, you will continue, and continue to win!
