New one for me. Opened the rear hatch on a super weekend trip all was well. Arrived home and went to open the hatch to remove the luggage and no release. I checked the fuse (circut breaker on the fuse panel) and it was good. Swapped another of a same value still no action.
When I press any of the 3 release buttons I can hear a clicking sound at what appears to be the right extension rod at the connector.
Any ides? Also is there a hidden mechanism to manually release the rear hatch in case of electrical failure.
Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow after work...Once I have it open I will be able to track down the clicking noise and figure out the weird electrons at work.

The clicking is the solenoid trying to release the catch. The bracket it engages has a plastic coating which cracks and makes it hard to release.Have someone push down on the hatch just over the release as you press one of the switches. It should pop.
Sounds like the release solenoid went bad. I just went through this myself. Replaced fuses, replaced the relay, etc. It worked for about 2 days then went back to clicking and not working again. I bought a used solenoid off someone parting a car out and bingo, it works flawlessly again! Those things supposedly die all the time.
If you need one, PM me. I got a working one in my parts car.
