Default head replacement for the L98

i have a 85 with new Hooker 2149 LT's i am still trying to plan my setup
i would like to know what aluminum heads are a good factory replacement that will still allow me to use the Headers

i would also like to know how much horsepower you can put through the factory trans and drive shaft running the 3.08 gears

are the 3.08 gears a god street gear or would i benefit by replacing them as well

There is no set torque value that you can put through the tranny or the rear. It is NOT the HP that breaks things.

Both will break whenever they please. If the tranny has a cooler, it will last longer, but there is no guarantee.

You can use any head that has the "L98 angle", but a specific recommendation depends on what your goals are for the whole car. If you want a good stock replacement, I'd pick the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads.

The answer to the gear question is the same, what are the goals? Is this car going to keep the TPI-style intake?
