It's the gears that fail in the early style. Diagnose before tearing apart.

I think mine had a nylon gear, and the newer is a metal gear, been a few years back,,,, but do both sides while your at it, the other side cant be far behind

Well after a few hours of tinkering around (yes, I tore the motor apart...the gears looked fine), I determined it to be a failed relay. I switched the wiring around, putting the left headlight motor actuator relay in the right headlight motor circuit, and vice versa. Sure enough, the other headlight flipped, and the previous one that flipped stopped. I have since ordered a new relay from Ecklers, which should be here by Friday!
Thanks for the advice guys. Oh, and for the .pdf file...I used the Haynes manual to figure out the wiring (blasphemy, I know...where's my FSM!)
