corvette Hood question
I have a 84 vette and only had it for about little over a year so I am new to the corvette scene. I notice that there is 2 shocks in the hood and I was wondering if they are suppose to kind of lift the hood when I open it like the rear hatch, or is it suppsose to slow the hood down when I drop the hood? Mine does neither so I cant see what the purpose of those shocks. Let me know you Vette owners. Thanks

So it shouldnt feel heavy at all then? So it should feel like the rear hatch where it assists you then right?

I need a pair for my '84. That hood is heavy, and it doesn't take much of a wind to destroy an old scissors type hood support. I could use a pair for the rear hatch, too. Poor baby is starting to get old.
