I have an '88 Vette that has an aftermarket LT-1 engine run by a Holley Commander. SInce this will be strictly a track car, I am palnning on replacing the video dashboard with an aluminum panel with autometers. I want to make the car as simple as possible with a push butto starter and only need brake lights, anti-skid and gauges. (basically very little wiring).
Does anyone know what drives the speedometer, tach, oil pressure and fuel gauge, etc...
Bump.... I'm doing more research on this as we speak...
I'm really trying to find more information on this because I think its a lot tougher than it seems. I believe forum member "Vinnies87" has fully customized his "new" analog guages from a 3rd gen F-body. I believe that would be less expensive, but probably more frustrating and complicated to accomplish....

That be true.... Heres a pic.
Plug and play analog setup for C4's, mine an 87...
They are the same connectors that plug into the ECM. I just replaced my cartoon dash with another cartoon dash but I am going to take the old dash and install all electric analog guages. I will keep the forum posted on my progress as there is a lot of interest in the analog guage changeout. Although good guages could cost as much or more than repaing the old cartoon guages.
