Hey, I'm having trouble with my 89. It won't start or even click when you turn the key. All the lights and gauges turn on but I cant get the thing started.
It ran fine till I filled it with gas, may be key trouble or clutch sensor not working. Any advice?
A bad/failing clutch switch would do this......bounce the pedal or replace it.
A problematic VATS would also do this. I'd try the clutch switch fix first 'cause VATS sucks.
Sounds like it isn't turning over, with no starter solenoid click audible. If this is the case, how old is your battery? Check battery terminals for corrosion. Lights will often work with a weak battery or corroded terminals. Good luck

Sorry I'm new to the forum.
I tried a little trick on the clutch switch and still didn't work.
I'm working on the VATS but haven't got to it yet.

No it's not turning over and there is no audible solenoid click either.
Thee battery is just over a year old and the terminals are in good shape.
I'll double check though.
Thanks
