1984, pretty much stock, with around 70,000 miles.
So the story goes, me and my sister were driving to school when we realized that we needed gas. So we went to the gas station on post and filled 'er up.
After some problems with the gas pump (pump not working) we moved up to the next pump, finally worked. So we get ready to leave and the Vette won't even turn over. Lights, A/C, horn, etc. all work.
Moved it out of the way (no power steering kinda sucks, pushing's worse) and when mom got there and tried, it started right up.
Now, we tried it again, and it sounded like something was rattling in the engine.
Remove the battery cables (neg first) and clean the cable lugs, bolts, and battery terminals and replace the cables (neg last). When it won't start, jump the clutch safety switch (gear selector sw if auto), they don't last forever! If you could hear the starter solenoid click when you attempted a crank, then you need new contacts that the starter solenoid forces together at the end of its stroke to switch current to the starter motor.
