Default Accel Ignition Module

Does anybody know what kind of ignition changes this module makes over the stock one? I have one in my 89 and it seems ok, but I've already had a issue with their coil messing up my tach, and I don't what to introduce another 'feature' of aftermarket parts.

I guess I'm basically looking to know if I'm better off going back to a stock module.

I have a DUI "Dyna Mod" module that I recently installed.

This is a link that gave me my understanding of what these units basically do. http://www.performancedistributors.com/accessories.htm

I don't have any tach problems since installing my module. I have had recent tach problems but think they were associated to a loose wire or similar as they have not recurred since I checked/tightened all connections a few weeks BEFORE I installed the new DUI module, coil, cap, and rotor.
