LT-1 Compression
The stock LT1 heads have a 54 cc chamber and 10,4:1 compression. My new heads are the AFR 195 cc with 58 cc combustion chamber. What you think, is the compression too low with the stock pistons. Should i change a thinner copper gaskets or the dome pistons ? The cam is Comp 503 (224/230 @ .050). By the way, are the SBC gen-1 pistons same as LT-1 ? Summit have a lot of Gen-1 pistons, but very few for LT-1.

LtX pistons are hypereutectic. You could use LT4 pistons which have a smaller (3 CC ) valve relief which would bump the compression up a bit.

I'm pretty sure the LT1 has 58cc combustion chambers. But, whether they are 54 or 58, I would still use a thinner head gasket. The 95/96 Impala SS head gaskets will raise your compression ratio ~1/2 point.
