Default FMS Injectors no longer available ????

I tried to order the FMS 30# injectors from Jegs and summit only to find out that they have been discontinued. What are the next best injectors? Should I buy rebuilt FMS injectors ???????

When I had a 5.0 Mustang, this is where I bought a lot of parts:

They still have 30's

Racetronix is a forum sponsor and they sell Ford/Bosh injectors (pintel type)as well as Lucas and Delphi (ball and disk type). I am sure they can point you in the right direction as to the strengths and weakness of each type.

I bought my Ford/Bosh 36lb injectors from them which have been impossible to get anywhere for the past few years.

Good price too.

Theses have the same flow rating as the FMS 30's:

They will work just as well if not better.

We should note that many people make the mistake of assuming the FMS injectors are really 30#. Ford rates most of their older EV1 FMS injectors at 39PSI using test solvent. When this is converted to the industry standard of 43.5PSI the Delphi 621020 and FMS 30# are identical.

When you say Racetronix and FMS are identicle do you mean just flow rate or flow rate and durability. I don't want injectors that start leaking in less than 2,000 miles like my Accell's did. Has anybody on here used the racetronix injectors?

ACCEL has new and improved injectors, in a new box.
I would not hesitate to use them, and I just did.
they were the cheapest by far.

These are Delphi disc injectors and they are just as good if not better than the factory injectors. Accel has moved to this technology as well after a bad run with their pintle injectors.

Most injectors are very reliable. Most of the time there is junk in the car's fuel system which causes problems. Before putting a new set of injectors in your motor perhaps you should look a bit deeper into the cause of your problem. Maybe send us your injectors for testing and inspection.

If I could send them to you I would but they are gone they stayed with the old motor. When a local speed shop was tuning the engine after installing the SDS ECU they added some trick fuel or high octane fuel they added 2 gals to 10 gals premium fuel. I also did this with c-12 racing fuel could this have caused the early failure of the Accells?

It is doubtful that race gas would cause a problem with the older Accel pintle injectors. The problems were mostly related to poor tolerance.

It looks like everybody has the FMS 30# injectors just not the matched set. I would think the matched set would be important on a batch fired motor or is a way around that possible? My SDS ECU only has 1 fuel setting per 250 rpm so I can only adjust all injectors at the same time. does anybody know how much a non matched set can vary ? is it worth hunting for the matched set or should I just get the unmatched set?

The D1720xx 32's have a factory dynamic tolerance of +/-6% which is pretty standard for most injectors. That being said we have found that the tolerance is much closer when comparing injectors from the same production run / lot. Typically we see +/-3% for disc injectors where pintle injectors usually have a much wider tolerance. This is why most customers and dealers rarely ever have a problem with lower sized disc injectors which are not flow matched. You could request that we flow-test the injectors for you to make sure there are none that are way off in the mark. The flow data could be used to strategically place the injectors in rich and lean cylinders. Many people do this because air distribution to all cylinders is not equal in C4 motors.
