C4 Making Tapping sound

If they did that I would have smoke out the exhaust, correct? I don't believe that is what they did. I'm going to have to check the plugs and verify they used the correct Mobil Motor oil.

No, you can screw up a lifter and not have any smoke coming out.
Try to pin down where the noise is coming from.
valve covers, fuel rail, spark plugs, exhaust, belts.
I had a tick once, it turned out the exhaust was loose.
Another time it was the dust cover on the clutch.
My lifter had a tick when I took the car out of storage, after I changed the oil it was fine.
They might have flushed some crud into the lifters.
But find out where the noise is coming from.

noises ??????????
it would not be the first time a gm emplyee took a vet for one hell of a joy ride ....................over reving the motor , doing burn outs on your tires and gas, lot jockies can be the worst.
