How long??
So this morning, when I got in, he tells me when I did this the exhuast blew a big cloud of black smoke.
The engine has 75K on it and doesn't burn oil and doesn't smoke normally. Just seems to do it when I put the spurs to it. (not all that often I may add)
So the question is, should I plan on a complete rebuilt this winter, or what are the options??
Thanks

excess fuel....when you depress the loud pedal rapidly, your ecm pulses the injectors with gusto, same purpose/effect as ''ancient'' accelerator pumps on carbs (remember those?), black smoke out the back is normal...and if you rarely ''get into it'', carbon will accumulate in the exhaust system, hence the ''old-timer'' saying of ''blowing the carbon out''....relax, tell your bud to ''eat my dust'' (another ancient wisecrack)
