ANTI LOCK light on
A couple weeks ago, my ANTI LOCK light came on when starting the Vette. The brakes seem to work OK even when coming to a hard stop. Light got the better of me and took it to my Vette shop. They tried for half hour to hook up the scanner to my computer and couldn't get any reading. Appearently if the scanner worked, it could tell them if one of the wheel sensors was bad. They told me one other Vette had a problem like this and the owner ended up getting a new ECM. I'm not about to shell out for a new ECM when the Vette stops OK. Can't really tell if the Anti Lock Brakes are completely off as I haven't jammed them on to see if the pedal pulsates. Even without ABS (if it is completely off), the 4 wheel disks are doing a good job. What's my next move?

That's because the use of a scanner won't tell you jack about the ABS. Only later cars stores ABS codes. You're '87 does not. Don't go to that shop again. It's cleary they are un familiar with these cars or they would have known this. You're better of buying the GM shop manual.

OK, thanks. Checked the fluid level and the fuses. Knew that would be too easy, light still on. Even checked all the connections on the ABS system that's in back of the drivers seat. Will print out all the pages you gave me and try and see if I can fix it myself.

With a multi meter, you can pretty much test the pump, relays, wiring harness, and ABS sensors right from the ABS compartment using both the Ohms and Voltmeter settings.
Check that you are getting current and continuity in all the right places and at the right times, by looking at the wiring diagram.
