Why is my EXT TEMP light flashing on my C68 A/C climate control???

Why is my EXT TEMP light flashing on my C68 A/C climate control???
It just started doing it this morning on my 89. Each time I start the car, the light flashes for about one minute and then stops. Needless to say, the EXTerior TEMPerature function still works but I'm just curious to why it all of a sudden starts flashing....

Your controller is telling you there is a fault in the system.
