Default Serpentine Belt Problems

I have a 94 coupe and the belt broke and flew off.... How do I get the Tensioner to move because it wont budge... and it looks like the belt broke some sensor that is on the Water pump.... does anyone have a P/N on that so I can order that up.

Thanks

1/2'' Tee bar works great on my 86. Stick it in the square recess in tensioner and lever the tensioner. I would expect it to be similar on your year.

Converted my 92 double sided to the 94 single sided. The 94 p/n's are:
10230259 - belt $ 22.51
10227507 - tensioner $ 36.95
Also for the conversion:
10227069 - P/S pully $ 24.52
10105355 - Idler pully $ 30.92
Prices are from last year, GMPartsDirect + shipping.

I supprised that you cant budge the tensioner. You should pull it off and look at it. There's only one bolt right above the tensioner pully that holds it on.

You are putting the socket on the nut in the center of the tensioner pully and pulling towards the drivers side aren't you?

Also, time to check the bearing in your idle pully, spin it by hand.
And, the tensioner's have marks to show the belt streatch limits. They're hard to see in the car. Take some of your favorite color paing and paint the 4 marks.

You should be able to move it with a 1/2" breaker bar or ratchet. The sensor in the waterpump is the CTS (coolant temp sensor). It has a yellow and black wire.

I couldnt get a ratchet on it because of the cross brace that right infront of the thing... I dropped it off at the mechanic which really makes me feel like less of a man because it is just a belt and I couldnt get it done
