You should drop central coaster a line. He could probably give you some good advance on the flywheel.

I'm not entirely sure the FAQ is accurate and can be trusted about the ZF stuff.

should I take my car back to get the clutch/flywheel looked at or should I just get a new flywheel?

Just get it balanced, you should be fine.
Welcome to the club as far as incompetent mechanics. Look in the regional sections here on the forum, I bet youll get plenty of choices from guys that are hooked up with good shops if you dont do your own wrenching. Weve all been there, dont give up.

Thanks guys. It sucks. But then again, its a corvette so it makes me feel better, specially when I lay some rubber down

That is insane.

I just had gears installed , and it cost me $400. I pulled the center section and took it to the shop.
Once they installed the gears I supplied, I re-installed the rear back in my Vette.

Got mine installed for $350. But, after the install the shop said they wouldn't do another C4 for that price.

yeah I drive it in and drive it out for 200, another shop said if i brought him my dif he would put in the gears for 150.00 but thats a forum guy (neat) ( name is josh) hes a great guy. its hard to find a reuitable guy..then my guy who installed my clutch/flywheel said 300-600..
