You know - that brings up an interesting thought. Would it be worth while at all to go through the trouble to try and switch the opti- to a regular distributor? I think there might be some clearance problems with the hood, but, could this work? I mean, if you go to the dealer - I have heard upwards of $600 to replace an opti. Could you switch it to a new fancy distributor for that price - or does the computer and everything complicate it all beyond its worth?????

I used to talk to a guy on the internet that did that. He said he used a 1991 engine harness and ECM. I think the only trade off that he had was the loss of traction control.

Hmmmm. Thanks. Not sure if that would be worth it or not. Either way, it it beyond my mechanical capability (tools, knowledge, etc).
