OK, I'm starting the job of removing a half shaft to replace the u-joints. Car's up, tire's off and I'm looking at the picture on page 4 of the Lifting and Jacking Tech Tip and at the underside of my car. And I'm scratching my head. I don't see anything that wide open under the car (it's a '94). Where is this jacking point relative to the rear wheel? Ahead of it? Behind it? Just under the XXX (replace XXX with that part of the corvette above this piece of frame. And please tell me!
I looked in tech tips and couldn't find one reguarding lifting, jacking, so I can't comment.
There is a lip seam from front wheels to back wheels. On my 86, there are a pair of triangles molded into the rocker panel, just behind the front wheel and just ahead of the rear wheel. Those are the jacking locations on the lip seam.
