Default Coolant?

I have installed a be cool radiator today, but I have not filled the system up yet, as I am not sure what coolant I have...

The car been in Texas all its life, and came to Denmark 1 year ago.
The coolant is red/orange, but im not sure if its DEX COOL or ordinary red coolant..

Can I mix DEX COOL with ordinary red coolant?
Is there a way to determine what coolant I have..

If your not sure which one you have there is a yellow coolant that can be mixed with any other coolant with no problems, this is what I use and it works fine. WW

If your asking about your Grand Sport, then it came from the factory with DEX COOL!

Of course, if you do a through coolant system flush you can put in whatever coolant you prefer.

NOTE: Dex Cool is a red-orange color

But if you mix DEX COOL with other types, you can create a nasty sludge. They do make coolants that are compatible with Dex Cool though, so read the bottle.

So chances are that it still DEX COOL in there i guess.
I better find some of that here in DK then....yet another challenge...

I plan to flush the system in the spring time when i do engine oil, trans oil etc. But for now I need it ready for incpections etc.

Well, from your description that would be my guess.
But I didn't say you had to keep it that way.

You can do a complete coolant system flush (you already have the new radiator), just finish flushing the block and all lines. Then you can use whatever coolant you prefer.

If you don't want to do a complete flush, just make sure that what you put in is compatible with Dex Cool. It should list it on the container somewhere.

I will try i find some dex cool, or dex compatible, and then flush the system at the spring service.
