I understand what youre getting at, but mine dont have any engravings.

The only thing on the ends are the accessory bolt holes.

THESE ARE THE HOTTEST SET OF HEADS ON THE MARKET. CHECK OUT THE CAR FORUMS, AND YOU WILL BE CONVINCED.

The overall design and the fact they are cnc bowl blended make these the best head on the market.

Intake: Exhaust:

.400 223 170
.500 252 183
.600 263 184
.700 270 185
.750 272

About the same as a moderately ported set of LT1 heads IMO.
Id really like to see the lower lift #s out of curiosity.
nice to know whats out there...

...Some of their sales pitch though cracks me up.

Okay, thanks.
I'm sure we have different heads but you would think yours would at least say patriot on them.

I hope we both have good results with them.

They've been around for a few years. I believe they started off as being called "pro toplines". Ebay sellers were selling unfnished castings for about $400 a pair. Then a few companies bought a ton of them, started machining them and selling them for $800+ a pair.

They are not bad I'm told.. Comparing them to LT1 heads is not really fair though. The LT1 castings happen to be pretty damn good. Compare them to some 128 or 113 castings (since these are SBC heads, and not LT1 heads) or even worse the iron L98 heads.

I don't think they are the pro topline heads.
Patriot Heads are made in the USA and owned by their parent company Alabama Cylinder Heads.
Both companies have been around for a while and Patriot is known for making a decent LS head.
This doesn't mean that the heads will flow well or perform, just that they are not cheap crap made overseas.

The saying 'you get what you pay for' likely applies here but I bought them anyway.

I can never keep track of those two co's. Had heard that one of them was bought and sold more than once....ANyway Joe, youre right, just about anything is better than a stock 128/113.

I may be wrong on that. I can't keep track.

I wouldn't discount overseas parts though. Most of the chinese parts I've bought over the years (scat, eagle, CAT, and so on) have been better than US union 'workmanship'. You pay Americans too much money, give them a strong union so they can't get fired, and they produce crap.

The casting comes from CHINA. The CNC port work and assembly is done here according to a Patriot rep on the NMRA forum a few weeks ago.

Patriot's LSX heads are factory castings they CNC port.

For the money they seem like a good deal for a street car, if Patriot can keep the QC in check. 250/180cfm @.500 is OK, but nothing to write home about, a good set of ported 113's will match them with comparable porting (hand or CNC) work from say LPE or CNC Heads.

We can hope that when a company changes hands it gets better but that's not always the case.

When I see what CRV3TT3's heads flow, i will know whether to laugh or cry.

Thanks for the info.

Sorry for hijacking your thread CRV3TT3.

From your info Will I'm ahead. For me to pick up a set of 113's and have them ported it would have cost me much more than what I paid for these heads.

Been a mustang guy myself. Had a super slow 98 GT... sold it. Bought a modded 93 GT... sold it. Bought a 90 GT and had big plans for it including a pile of mods in the garage (306 shortblock, AFR 185's, Crane 1.6 rockers, Trickflow stage 2 cam (.551.,560 lift), full bolt ons ready)... selling it now along with all the parts i have in boxes since i bought my C4. LOL!

The Vette is just so much nicer overall! Id rather quit wasting my time on the mustangs and build a real car!

Sorry to hijack. Just though it was funny we both did the same thing.

That's the difference... I never sold the Mustangs. But mine were all early ones '64-'66. Probably worth a bit more than your average '90 - '98.

CRV3TT3

Ever sense I read this I have been wondering what the issue is that the intake needs welded to match? Is this an issue with your intake or with the heads, would this be a problem on all intakes?

Depends on who you talk to. The heads are supposedly 1206 port. Even a 1206 intake sometimes has an alignment problem with the heads. The very top of the ports don't get covered enough..
