Interested in beefing the '95 LT1 a bit with headers and exhaust. Be interested in hearing your thoughts, costs, headaches, etc on the subject. IL registration so I can be pretty liberal with the goodies...

Look in the Parts section - there is a group purchase going on for Stainless Works headers (just ordered mine today). I'm going to stick with the stock exhaust for now.

Do a SEARCH on headers & exhaust and you'll find tons of threads on the subject...but FWIW, you can't go wrong w/ Exotic Muscle longtube headers and a Corsa catback.

I'm in the process of putting EM Longtubes on my 95 now. Its a pretty straight forward job. Nothing really hard about it. Youll have to move the compressor to the side. You can leave the AC lines connected. While you have the old manifolds off, it would be a good idea to change plug wires if your car needs it. I got the MSD 8.5 wires for my car. Very easy to change at that time. The directions tell you to switch the drivers side motor mount bolt around. I just grinded mine down a little. But they pretty much slipped right up against the head like they where factory. It wasn't hard getting them in there. They fit nice. Under the car on the drivers side, there is a cat bracket that is held on by 2 bolts. You wont beable to reuse the factory cats, so I cut the bracket off with a cut off wheel. Youll see why when your there. The one thing I havent dealt with yet, cause i'm waiting for the header bolts to show up( I have 2 old manifold bolts on each side started just to hold the headers in place), is what to do with the 2 longer manifold bolts that used to hold the alternator and compressor brackets. I also orderd EM's header extensions. It makes it easier to attach the cat back exhaust to the headers. I say do it. Nothing really hard about it.
