Default Ignition switch installation for 89

Trying to install an ignition switch someone else removed and cannot figure out how the actuator rod from the key lock mechanism attaches. Hole on bottom side of switch doesn't line up with slot in the mounting bracket but, the rod is bent in such a way it seems it can only go into the bottom of the switch. Help would be appreciated.

I don't think I have ever seen you give any other answer but this. Seems a bit rude to treat new people like this. Some new people might get the wrong impression about this site when there is a lot of good information and a lot of people who can offer information.

Welcome aboard. If agent86's information doesn't help you, there is also a good search function on this site. You can choose search, then I usually use the advanced search. When you get in there you can put in something like ignition+switch so it will find posts with both words. Next check it to also search the archives. On the right side of the advanced search you can have it check "C4 Corvettes" forum and all the sub folders for your answer. Hope this helps you a little for the future.

Thanks to all who replied. Still unable to figure it out. Going to do some more research today and if that doesn't work I will have to take it to the dealer. Been driving a four cyclinder Hyundai for two weeks now and the need for more power is really starting to get to me. This is an awesome forum and I enjoy browsing and learning new things every time I visit this site. I look forward to many more visits.

Any chance that the rod and/or switch isn't correct for the car? A long shot but may be worth checking.
