While running some road course laps my power steering seemed to slowly go away. It's now making some nasty noise.
Does anyone know if someone makes a performance power steering pump or someone who rebuilds them for performance applications.
Apprecite any ideas.
The 96 has a cooler. How many miles on your car? I had the same thing happen to me on my 94. Be sure to check the basics first and that is fluid level. Any loss of fluid level is pointing to a mechanical problem. I assumed the worst(prior to checking my fluid levels) and it was a pinhole leak in the cooler. My car has 70,000 miles, an original rack and over 60 hours track time. Here is a link for an interesting rack if it turns out yours is toast.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CORVE...2em118Q2el1247
Thanks guys for all of your info. Fluid level was OK. No leaks that I can see. Car only has 15k miles on it. But it is 11 years old. I check into those products once I find out for sure what the problem is.
