I searched all the lowereing posts, but still have not seen a post actually giving what size bolt is needed to lower the rear, I have seen either Grade 8 or grade 10, 10", or 12" long.
Can someone tell me what actually the (size, grade, length) is that is in the aftermarket so called lowering kits.(hell of alot cheapier to buy the bolts from a bolt manufacturer)
I know my C5 had the grade 8, 1.2" inch I do believe but they were only 8".
Be careful just doing the rear. You want the nose down on a C4. I normally run with a 1-degree rake. I dropped the nose as much as it would go and then adjusted the rear to get the proper height. It's not a perfect solution - but it seems to work at Sebring and Homestead.
You may be able to drop the rear enough by altering the packing shims. If you look where the spring attaches to the diff you will see each mount has four spacers. If you put them all below the spring it drops the rear about an inch.Doing it this way doesn't alter the camber angle. If that's not enough you will need 10"x 9/16" bolts with nylock nuts to drop it further then take it for an alignment.
