dimmer switch rod problems
I have a '93 and I think something is missing from the headlight dimmerswitch rod at the top where it connects to the lever. The switch has not workes since I bought the car and I decided I wiuld change the dimmer switch. Got everything out of the way and the switch is not bad. Got to looking @ the top and the rod was not hooked up. Fornd what looks to be the complete plastic piece that connects the rod to the lever but when I try to adjust it to make it "click" the switch the plastic piece wants to kick out to the left and not give me enough straight-line motion to work. It looks like the plastic piece would fit inside of the colum, next to a flat gear that works the ign. but I am not sure. I think if it was in there it would stay straight. Any advice, pictures???

I adjusted
My Dimmer didnt' work and I read on the forum that you could bend the rod to make it work but what worked better was to slide the dimmer switch on the column downward and it works great. If you pull back the stalk to dim the lights and the rod doesn't move you have something broken in the top side of the column but usually the "Click" comes from the electrical switch when it is working and adjusted properly. Try adjusting it all the way down first.
