I recently replaced the radiator in my '85. I also decided to remove some stuff, including all of the HVAC. I then decided to replace all of the vacuum and coolant hoses. Once I got it back together it ran great, for a couple days. I started it this morning and it immediately died. I started it again and was able to keep it running as long as I was on the accel pedal, let off and it dies. As it warms, it gets to the point where it will idle, but not smoothly.
I know I know, check vacuum, fuel, spark. To save time, is there a most likely culprit? What should I check first?
Are there any codes being thrown? Check this first as a place to start. Smoke from exhaust? Running rich? Pull a plug and check. When was last time the fuel filter was changed?
I know...you are going to check for Vacuum leaks.....
-if you disconected the battery and haven't really driven it yet, I find mine must be truned on, warmed up and turned off 7x before the computer will start to take in sensor info, mine always dies when its idling after I have done work until the seven starts is over, not sure if anyone else finds this
-if all else fails mabey the fuel fither's clogged
