Hello! I'm new here, but I have learned alot after reading all the posts in this forum. I have recently purchased an 86 Vette and have a question about the bose radio that I can't find an answer for that maybe someone can help me with. The radio that is in my car has no "set" button. In all of the readings that I have found, all of the 86 Bose radios HAD this. Do I have a different bose radio, or were there some 86's made with the 84-85 style radio with no "set" button? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
Look at the side of the radio behind the *****. If it has a finned
aluminum side panel, its a regular Delco cassette deck out of
something else. The Bose has a tin side cover and is sort of
empty there. No amp inside. Benny
The car has all the correct speaker/amp combos though (and everything seems to be working correctly). Does a standard Delco deck still work with all the bose equipment and are the hookups in the back of the stereo the same as a bose deck? Sorry for all these questions, but now I'm really confused!!
Wow. Thanks for the info. I bet that's what the previous owner did. His Blose bit the dust and replaced it with whatever he could find. Looks like I'll be scouring the internet trying to find a year correct one.

I just so happen to have a correct year one that is in serious need of repairs, but at least it is an original '86. I was going to throw it out; PM me if you want it. You'd probably need to send it to one of those stereo doctors.
