Door hatch release not working
The rear hatch door switches if they are not working and the interior lights are not working when doors are openned then follow as Yoitsmatt posted on step 2.
Your inside lights and door switches will work with dimmer switch, even the timer reley not grounded. a good way to check to see if you have a ground issue is the drop the pass side lower carpet under dash and check the light there for PoS(+) voltage on both wires if ya have it on both wires to the light the ground is bad. Becareful with the door jam switches they are easy to break. I just set the alarm opened a door set off alarm (guessing the alarm goes thru these same switches) and didn't go any further with them.
Push switch on rear hatch is just a hatch ajar switch i thought
Must be a short some where i have to find - lights come on while drriving when it hit a bump or something - could be the open wire on passenger side hitting something -- but they work ..
So all these words and the answer to your question is becareful of back plate when your taking out the switch -- you will need it to put back new one -- put a wire in the 2 holes on the inside plug if lights come on it is your door switch...
since my plate dropped i am going to use fishing wire , put a weight on it drop it down tie on plate pull it up, fish around and get lined up after fighting with plug and put back together ---easy, just take your time

I kinda have this same problem, except the only thing that dont work on mine is the door button, my console button works good, and all my lights operate properly.
its not a huge deal so I never got into it that deep, this guys problem is more of hassle than mine.
Door hatch is linked in there some where but you didnt indicate a problem with that or I didnt see it -- it opens the hatch and lights will come on.
Your interior light dimmer control switch dims or brightens - dash and door lights - for a 95 it is the door switch - as I said last weekend our club had Gordon Killbrew at one of our garages and he worked on my car....thats how I know this ....again for a 95

When you open either door, the door pin switch located in the A pillar by the front of each door hinge sends a ground signal to the Courtesy lamp Delay timer.
The timer then closes a solid state relay which provides a ground for the courtesy lights so the lights turn on. It also provides a ground for the two hatch release switches so they can engergize the Hatch Release Relay.
Because the Courtesy Lamp Delay timer isn't working, the hatch release switches have no path to ground. The hatch release button inside the center console works because it doesn't use the same circuit path as the two door switches. For the center console hatch release button to function, for an auto trans. the shifter must be in park or neutral. For a manual trans. the emergency brake must be engaged.
Agent 86 posted the schematic showing the Courtesy Lamp Delay timer.
If the Courtesy Lamp Delay timer is bad, you can buy a replacement or bypass it. To bypass it at the Courtesy Lamp Delay timer connector, you cut the white wire at Pin A and cut the two white wires at Pin D. Solder the three white wires together. This will cause the courtesy lights to come on when the doors are opened and go out when the doors are closed. There will be no delay time out for the courtesy lights.

The timer is taped to a wire harness behind the dash. Some people drop the ECM down for better access. The ECM (silver colored metal box) is held in place by two nuts. Once the nuts are removed you pull it down.
