I got a 1993 LT1 for Christmas, my 1st Vette... LOVE IT !!! Recently on my way home, down shifted to 3rd to make a turn and she died on me, like it was running out of gas. It took four tries before she refired, only a couple of miles from home, I got here, she was spitting and sputtering. The next day, she won't start... no I didn't wash the motor. Any ideas of what's wrong with her?
Wow! Four repeat posts asking how much money. Somebody anxious?
Jimijam, I have no idea how much money. Just send me the car and $10K cash, I will call you when it is ready to be picked up. I should add I do great work and my warranty is just as long as my driveway.
Waitng to hear from you.
HAve the car scanned. When it died out on you it probably went into "limp home mode" and is still in that mode. The money is never as important as taking it to a good vette shop. You will spend less money with someone that knows what they are doing and looking for than with some ordinary shop that will guess and throw parts at it. Remember, the cheap will cost you plenty.

I would ask who you bought it from if they washed it. I would suspect Opti, as it is a fragile piece, trust me.
Take one plug wire off and see if you at least have spark. This will tell you ECM and coil are working, not necessarily the Opti. The opti will send a spark out, but when degraded or breaking down it will send a spark where ever. Think of a glass of water and you are looking through it, that is what the opti sees too when it has water in it, so it will throw a spark wherever.

Same thing happened to an '88 I had many years ago. Classic signs of a bad ECM chip.
