I've ordered HP PLus pads for my 92 but after additional reading here on the Formu , I am thinking about returning and going with HPS. I have read that HP plus pads are noisy, dusty and chew up rotors.
I am doing one HDPE in May at Pocono (as a novice). no plans for additional HDPEs, Autocross etc. Other then this I am a "normal" weekend cruiser (local and some longer (200 to 400 miles round tip 3 or 4 times a year) with some "spirited" driving mixed in as conditions allow.
Will the HPS pads be OK for one HDPE and better suited for "normal" driving ? the HP Plus are probably better for the one HDPE but are they overkill for "normal" street use ?
corvette recycling is selling AC delco 13" front discs for $65 shipped. buy a set and some HPS pads for the street, use your old rotors {provided they aren't too bad} with a set of Hawk blues for the track. it's a little more money but you won't have the fade problems or waste a set of HPS pads doing track day.
